Department: New Home Buyer Ombudsperson Office
Type of Position: Full –Time, Permanent (1)
Location: Corporate Office, Toronto, Ontario
Reporting To: New Home Buyer Ombudsperson
Responsibilities:
- Develop practices and processes that support detailed customer file reporting and management for the Ombudsperson’s office
- Communicate in person, by email, by mail and by telephone with complainants
- Respond in a timely manner to all escalated service or warranty complaints
- Apply a fair, impartial, and independent process to the resolutions of issues
- Participate in a cooperative strategy for complaint resolution across the organization
- Analyze complaint patterns and provide warnings to Ombudsperson
- Provide a consistent and thorough approach to complaint handling throughout the organization
- Support the Ombudsperson in the mandate of the office
Qualifications:
- 3 – 5 years experience managing staff in a service environment (customer service)
- Minimum College diploma or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of the Ontario New Home Warranty Plan Act and Builder Bulletins, as they apply to consumers
- Knowledge of Tarion’s Information Systems
- Proven experience in dispute resolution involving complex situations
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate with others in a dynamic environment
- A strong bias for action
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Proven problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to provide guidance and leadership to staff
