Department: New Home Buyer Ombudsperson Office
Type of Position: Full time, Permanent (1)
Reporting to: Manager, New Home Buyer Ombudsperson Office
Location: Corporate Office, Toronto
Responsibilities:
- Prepare documents, reports and decision letters as required
- Provide fair, timely, quality and consistent service to all home buyers, owners, vendor/builders and their agents and other stakeholders and clients
- Activities include contacting customers, providing guidance and direction and assuring all appropriate documentation is contained on file
- Communicate with all stakeholders to gather information
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required
- Record file activity, update files with correspondence and general information, both verbal and written
- Investigate complaints as directed
- Support the resolution of escalated service or warrant complaints as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School or G.E.D. graduate (or equivalent)
- 2 -4 years customer service experience
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- General knowledge of the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act and Condominium Act is preferred
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Codes and construction contracts is an asset
- Must possess a strong customer service and team player orientation
- Demonstrated problem solving and negotiating skills
- Strong computer skills (MS Office)
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated interest in and commitment to continuous learning
