At Tarion Warranty Corporation, we are entrusted with the responsibility of administering the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan. This involves, among other things, registering and regulating new home builders and administering and enforcing a statutory warranty plan to protect purchasers of new residential homes in Ontario from certain risks. These include builder failures or defaults such as substandard construction, faulty workmanship and materials, incomplete construction and loss of deposits. We also promote better communication between builders and purchasers of new homes and seek to inform and educate new home buyers and builders about their rights and responsibilities.
This Code of Conduct describes the fundamental principles that guide our behaviour. The code applies to all members of Tarion, including Board members, officers and employees. It is supplemented by other documents, public portions of which are available upon request.
