President & CEO
Howard Bogach joined Tarion in 2008 bringing over 20 years of experience in the financial services, cooperative and member service sectors. Prior to joining Tarion, Howard served as President & CEO of Credit Union Central of Ontario (CUCO), a $2.2 billion wholesale financial services provider which also acts as the provincial industry trade association supporting 160 member organizations. Prior to joining CUCO, Howard was President & CEO of Metro Credit Union, the largest Credit Union in the Greater Toronto area with over 44,000 members and assets in excess of $600 million. Howard began his career in Western Canada where he served in various positions of increasing responsibility at Hudson’s Bay Company, Touche Ross, Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation and Capital City Savings. He graduated from University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts in 1975 and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in 1977. |

Senior Vice President, Operations
David J. Guiney joined Tarion in August of 2008 and brings extensive experience in the practice of corporate and commercial law in the financial services sector. Prior to joining Tarion, David was a partner at Tanner & Guiney Associates-Barristers and Solicitors, where he served as general corporate counsel to Credit Union Central of Canada and Credit Union Central of Ontario. Prior to forming Tanner & Guiney Associates, David served on the senior management team of Credit Union Central of Ontario as General Counsel. David graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts in 1985 and received his LL.B. from McGill University in 1989. He also holds a Masters of Public Administration from Queen’s University. |

Vice President, Claims
Peter Balasubramanian joined Tarion in January, 2004 as corporate counsel following several years at Torys LLP where he advised clients, including Tarion, on matters related to commercial real estate, construction litigation and general corporate commercial litigation. Peter was promoted to the position of Senior Counsel in 2005, and has provided legal advice on policy development, compliance obligations and warranty-related issues for Tarion over the past several years. In February 2009 he took on the role of Vice President, Claims and is currently responsible for the management of all claims related to new homes and condominium units in Ontario. Peter is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School where he has also served as an adjunct professor teaching advocacy. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1999. |

Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
John Becevello joined Tarion in 2004 and brings a strong background in finance, insurance and process improvement. John graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1978 with an Honours Degree in Mathematics and became a Chartered Accountant a year later. He began his corporate career with Trizec Corporation in Calgary, Alberta, where he became the Corporate Controller. He then moved to Royal Trustco Limited where he served as the Director of Corporate Accounting. John also worked for the Canadian Branch of the Prudential Insurance Company of America where he held the position of Vice President & Comptroller. Most recently, John worked for Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, initially as Vice President of Accounting and subsequently as Vice President of Financial Processes where he was responsible for leading finance process and system improvements. |

Vice President, Builder Relations
Mike Coté joined Tarion in 1989 as a Condominium Technical Representative and since has served in a number of progressively senior positions including manager of the Tarion Condominium Office, which he set up in 1994. Mike has over 26 years experience in the construction industry. In addition to owning an ICI construction company in the mid-1980’s in the Ottawa Valley, Mike served as Chief Building Official and Property Standards Officer in Eastern Ontario in the historic Village of Merrickville. A graduate of Algonquin College, he has held a number of municipal roles for the City of Ottawa in the areas of design, construction, surveying, site supervision and inspection. Mike is a member of various industry committees including the Rescon Technical Committee (formerly Joint Construction Council), the Ontario Building Code Committee (Part 5), the Toronto Construction Association and the Ontario Building Officials Association. |

Eileen Holden joined Tarion in December 2003 and brings an extensive background in Human Resources management. A graduate of Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1976 and an MBA in 1978, Eileen is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP). Prior to joining Tarion, Eileen spent 19 years at Eli Lilly Canada in a number of progressively senior management roles. More recently, Eileen was Director, Human Resources at Quest Software Canada and Director, Human Resources for Casco Inc. (Canada Starch) |

Vice President, Corporate Affairs
Janice Mandel joined Tarion in 2002 and brings a strong background in corporate communications and brand marketing. Janice began her marketing career at the public relations firm, Hill and Knowlton Canada where she began as a consultant and progressed to Vice President, Consumer Marketing. She then joined Procter & Gamble and was responsible for leading both internal and external communications for the company’s Canadian operations. Janice graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1986, and from York University in 1989 with a Masters in Business Administration. |

Director, Industry and Government Relations
Rob Mitchell joined Tarion in 2004 and brings an extensive background in marketing and communications. Rob started his career as a journalist for the Toronto Sun and then moved to CBS Records (subsequently purchased by Sony Music) where he was first Manager and then Director of Press and Publicity. After nearly a decade in the music industry, he returned to the media in a variety of roles, first for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, then for the government of Ontario, where he was the Director of Communications, Ministry of Finance, a Senior Media Advisor for Premier Mike Harris, and Director of Communications for Premier Ernie Eves. Most recently, at Premier Eves’ request, Rob oversaw the creation of the Economic Recovery Office of the Ministry of Tourism, to deal with the impact of the SARS infection on Ontario’s tourism industry. |

Vice President and General Counsel
Tim Schumacher joined Tarion in 2006 and brings an extensive background in real estate, corporate and commercial law. During a distinguished 22 year career with the Toronto law firm of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, he advised clients such as Hydro One, Oxford Developments, Bank of Montreal, Procter & Gamble and the former Eaton companies. He graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Degree in Urban and Regional Planning in 1980 and a Degree in Law from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1983. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1985 and has lectured for a number of years in Real Estate for the Law Society Bar Admission Course. |
