•  Homeowner surveys are outsourced to an independent research firm and have become
     the primary factor in determining Award winners.
  
• The name of the Awards was changed in 2004 to reflect the Corporation’s new name.
  
• The winners are announced at a gala event that has attracted more than 400 industry 
    members from across Ontario each year.

Finalists and Winners for the 2007 Tarion Awards of Excellence will be determined by a comprehensive survey sent to almost 54,000 consumers who took possession of a new home during 2006.  Survey questions are designed to assess homeowner satisfaction with their builder.  In order for builders to be included in the Awards process they must have had at least five possessions during 2006.  In addition, a minimum number of completed surveys must be received to ensure that homeowner responses can be fairly evaluated.

Participants compete in four categories:

High-Rise Builder of the Year
For builders with over 100 high-rise possessions per year.

Large Volume Builder of the Year
For builders with over 100 possessions per year.

Medium Volume Builder of the Year
For builders with 21-100 possessions per year.

Small Volume Builder of the Year
For builders with 5-20 possessions per year.
