What is the Builder Portal?

The Builder Portal is a web-based tool by which builders can keep track of enrolment and Customer Service Standard related information.

Why has Tarion created the Builder Portal?

The Builder Portal is part of Tarion’s mission to become a more modern, customer service-oriented and transparent organization. More specifically, the Builder Portal is Tarion’s first step in a long-term vision of providing opportunities for Vendor/Builders and Homeowners alike to do business with Tarion electronically.

Who can use the Builder Portal?

All currently registered Vendor/Builders may apply to use the Builder Portal.

How does the Builder Portal benefit me?

The Builder Portal will provide some immediate benefits to Vendor/Builders in terms of electronic access to information about: their enrolments; electronic copies of the Certificates of Completion and Possession sent in by Vendor/Builders; electronic copies of the Homeowner Forms received and processed by Tarion on Customer Service Standard homes and the related Notices mailed to Homeowners and builders.  The Builder Portal comes with features, such as the ability to download information into a spreadsheet, that will make managing Homeowner warranty requests easier and more efficient.

How much does it cost?

Currently, there is no fee related to the Builder Portal.

What are the minimum requirements for using the Builder Portal?

The minimum requirements are:

·         Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher

·         CPU Processor of 700 Mhz or more

·         RAM of 256 MB or more

·         High Speed Internet Access

·         Microsoft Excel 2000 or higher

·         Microsoft Word 2000 or higher

·         Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher

How long does it take for information to appear in the Builder Portal?

Information appears in the Builder Portal as soon as it is processed by Tarion.

Will other builders be able to see my company’s records?

No. As a registered user, you will have access only to your own company’s records.

How many users can I set up within my company?

Once you register, Tarion will issue you an administrator’s profile.  Using this profile, you can set up as many additional users within your company as you wish.

What if I encounter any technical problems while I am using the Builder Portal?

The Builder Portal features online help as well as an online tutorial that may be of assistance should an issue arise.  If you are still unable to resolve the issue, please contact Tarion for support.

How do I register?

To register, simply fill out and submit an online Registration Form

What are the conditions governing the use of the Tarion Builder Portal?

Use of the Tarion Builder Portal is governed by the agreement that the administrator accepted on behalf of the company. Also, each and every user must abide by specific terms and conditions  and the Tarion privacy policy.

What additional Builder Portal features can we expect in the future?

The Builder Portal is a very important part of Tarion’s plans for servicing its builder customers in the future by strengthening an electronic link with builders. Builder participation in the Portal is an essential first step toward:

 

§          On-line registration and enrolment

§          Electronic distribution of Certificates of Completion and Possession, Notices, Letters and Warranty Assessment Reports
