Certificate of Completion & Possession
The Certificate of Completion and Possession (CCP) establishes the date of possession of a home or condominium, which is the start date of all warranty coverage for that housing unit.

The CCP is also used to collect possession information used in the risk assessment conducted at renewal of registration (see Builder Bulletin 28). Builders must submit the CCP to Tarion within 15 days of the date of possession. Failure to submit the CCP on time may lead to changes in the terms and conditions of a builder's registration.

A preprinted CCP for each enrolled unit is sent directly to the builder once Tarion receives the completed enrolment form and the appropriate fees. The CCP will include the builder/vendor registration number, enrolment number and the builder's company name and address.

Procedure
  1. Verify the civic address, legal description, and the enrolment number. If any changes are required, contact Tarion at 1-800-668-0124 (in Toronto 416-229-9200).
  2. The CCP should be completed with the homeowner during the pre-delivery inspection (PDI) prior to the closing of a freehold home or prior to the date of occupancy of a condominium unit.
  3. During the PDI, attach the Warranty Certificate Seal to the electrical panel in the home. At the end of the inspection, have the purchaser sign the CCP and give the purchaser a copy of the CCP and the attached Warranty Certificate.
  4. Retain one copy of the CCP for your records and send one copy of the completed CCP along with the completed PDI Form and Acknowledgement of Receipt of the Homeowner Information Package form (if not already submitted) to Tarion within 15 days of the date of possession:
