In Jayson Schwarz’s recent column for New Home and Condos for Sale, he answers reader’s questions, including one about Tarion.

A reader from Ottawa asks Schwarz about delays in new home construction, and expresses concern that there aren't enough parameters to ensure that builders meet their deadlines.

Schwarz begins his response by stating that Tarion’s mission is to help protect Ontario’s new homeowners. He adds that Tarion has created rules that builders must follow, and if they do not, it allows homeowners to apply for expense recovery and/or a conciliation. Schwarz also mentions that at a conciliation, builders can be required to comply with Tarion decisions.
