The Gravenhurst Banner reported that Tarion Warranty Corporation has contracted Fowler Construction to pave 38 driveways in a PineRidge subdivision after the builder was “unwilling and unable” to finish the work itself.

Rob Mitchell, Director of Industry and Government Relations, said that Tarion would pay for the driveways to be paved from the residents’ garages to the street.

Gord Bird, president of the PineRidge Homeowner’s Association, said he knew assistance from Tarion was coming, but that he was surprised at how quickly help came. Bird added that “some homeowners have been waiting for two years, and I know they’re sick of shoveling stones and tracking the dirt into the house.”

Gravenhurst Ward 2 councillor Lou Guerriero, who had been monitoring the issue, said that he was also pleased that Tarion responded so quickly after receiving all the information about the situation.
