The information provided in the Licensed Builder Directory will allow you to determine whether a builder is licensed, show how many homes they've built, and help you get some information about their after-sales service record with Tarion.  This information will give you some insight into a builder's performance, but it does not represent a complete picture of their customer service record.  When selecting a builder, home buyers should look at a broad range of sources.  Other ways you can research your builder include:
  • Ask for references and talk to other customers about their experience with the builder.
  • Talk to homeowners in the neighbourhood(s) you are interested in to find out how satisfied they are with their home, and visit other developments that the builder has built. 

Find out which builders have received a Tarion Award of Excellence (since 2004).  Awards are given annually to builders based on their after-sales service record during the previous 12 months.
