Since 2009, Tarion has held an Annual Public Meeting (APM) to provide interested stakeholders with an update on the organization, and an opportunity to direct questions to Tarion’s management and employees.
On May 31, 2016, Tarion held its first virtual APM by webcast, in an effort to increase accessibility to a greater number of people across Ontario. More than 1,600 people from all parts of the province registered for the event: from Thunder Bay, Timmins and Sudbury to Sarnia, Windsor and Niagara Falls to Kingston, Ottawa and Petawawa; and dozens of towns and cities in between.
We also received hundreds of questions from homeowners about the warranty generally and our processes. Tarion staff followed up with over 200 homeowners to answer individual questions about their homes. More than another 30 general questions were answered live during the webcast.
