2009, Tarion has held an Annual Public Meeting (APM) to
provide interested stakeholders with an update on the
opportunity to direct questions to Tarion’s
management and employees.
On May 31, 2016, Tarion held its first virtual APM by webcast, in
an effort to increase accessibility to a greater number of people across
Ontario. More than 1,600 people from all parts of the province registered for
the event: from Thunder Bay, Timmins and Sudbury to Sarnia, Windsor and Niagara
Falls to Kingston, Ottawa and Petawawa; and dozens of towns and cities in
between. We also received hundreds of questions from homeowners
about the warranty generally and our processes. Tarion staff have
followed up with over 200 homeowners to answer individual questions about their
homes. More than another 30 general questions were answered live during the
APM, we made a commitment to have a recording of the full meeting, including the
Question and Answer session posted by June 7, 2016. We are pleased
to exceed that commitment by making it available here.
