Toronto, ON, August 10, 2017 – Tarion is urging consumers who have signed an agreement to buy a home from Kings Custom Homes Incorporated or Cory Savary to contact Tarion.
Tarion has issued a Notice of Proposal to revoke the registration of Kings Custom Homes Incorporated, a builder operating in the Peterborough area, for violating terms of its registration under the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act. Savary is a director of the company.
Kings Custom Homes Incorporated has appealed Tarion's proposal to the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT).
The builder, based in Omemee, Ontario, is selling homes in the following municipalities: Otonabee-South Monaghan; Asphodel-Norwood; Douro-Dummer; Cavan Monaghan; Hamilton Township; and Kawartha Lakes.
Tarion's enforcement team is investigating the activities of Savary and Kings Custom Homes Incorporated and is urging anyone who has information about the builder or has signed an agreement of purchase and sale with the builder to contact Tarion.
Tarion protects the rights of new home buyers by regulating new home builders and administering the province's new home warranty program. Part of Tarion's mandate is to investigate and prosecute builders who violate the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act.
