Tarion goes pink

"Reaching out to hear someone's story, share a smile, share a tear, or just a donation for a cause - that's what we're here for." - Bright Run Participant

One in eight Canadian women develop breast cancer during their lifetime.  This is why, on the first Saturday after Labour Day, breast cancer fighters, survivors and their loved ones gather for the ‘Bright Run’ to raise funds for cancer reBrightrunsearch at the Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton, Ontario.

At Tarion, community is at the heart of all we do - from protecting one of life’s biggest investments to supporting organizations and initiatives where we live and work.

This year’s Bright Run was a first for Team Tarion. Many of our members have had family or close friends touched by breast cancer and were keen to help. The team rallied their co-workers and families to the cause and we’re delighted to say our fundraising total reached close to $4,000.

Bright Run is more than just a fundraiser. It’s a community bound by courage and hope where volunteers share personal stories of resilience. Relatives pay homage to the loved ones they’ve lost. Survivors and volunteers participate in a non-competitive victory walk and, most importantly, everyone celebrates the fruit of their labour of raising funds for innovative research on breast cancer.

Every dollar invested in the fund goes towards pioneering research studies that may give hope and a second chance to live, love and grow. We are inspired by Juravinski Cancer Centre’s commitment, the generosity of their sponsors including Air Canada Foundation and VIA Rail, the dedication of volunteers and, most of all, the courage of those who have faced cancer head-on.

If breast cancer research is close to your heart, you too can make an impact by donating here. Also watch how Tarion participated and to learn more about this great charity below.
