DOOR CLOSING TOO QUICKLY OR TOO SLOWLY
Elevator doors shall operate within the manufacturer’s recommended speed ranges and shall not exceed the code limit for maximum allowable kinetic energy. Kinetic energy of a closing door shall be based upon the sum of the hoist-way and the car door weights as well as the weight of parts rigidly connected to the doors and shall also include the rotational inertia effects of the door operator and the connecting transmission. The door closing force necessary to prevent closing of the hoist-way door (or the car door or gate if power operated) from rest shall not exceed 135 N (30 lb.). This force shall be measured on the leading edge of the door with the door at any point between one-third and two-thirds of its travel, and shall also not exceed the maximum allowed code limits.
One-Year - Work and Materials
Equipment not meeting the Acceptable Performance/Condition shall be repaired.
