BATHTUB OR SHOWER LEAKS

Acceptable Performance/Condition

Bathtubs and showers shall be installed in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications so they do not leak.

Action

Bathtubs or showers not meeting the acceptable performance shall be repaired.

Remarks

Caulking and seals around bathtubs and shower enclosures and entry door seals require regular homeowner inspection and maintenance to prevent leaks. If a leak is detected in a water supply pipe, the main water supply valve should be turned off immediately until the builder’s representative can assess the condition.
