Condition

WATER PENETRATION BEHIND CERAMIC TILE AND BATHTUB OR SHOWER ENCLOSURES

Acceptable Performance/Condition

Joints between ceramic tiles and adjacent surfaces shall prevent water penetration.

Warranty

One-Year - Work and Materials. · Damage resulting from improper maintenance and normal wear and tear is excluded from the statutory warranty.

Action

Ceramic tile installation not meeting the acceptable performance shall be repaired.

Remarks

The owner must regularly inspect and maintain the “soft caulked joints” between the ceramic tiles and adjacent surfaces. Grout joints between individual ceramic tiles may deteriorate over time under normal use; periodic maintenance is required. See Also: 6.6 BATHTUB OR SHOWER LEAKS
