Tarion is overseen by the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services. In that regard, Tarion and the Ministry have entered into an Accountability Agreement which addresses an number of matters including requirements for reporting, including:
- Preparation and publishing an Annual Report;
- Commitments regarding governance;
- Code of conduct;
- Requirements regarding policy development and regulatory changes;
- Operational commitments regarding Tarion’s Ombudsperson;
- Homebuyer surveys; and,
- Stakeholder outreach.
