When you’re ready to start your search for a new home, it’s exciting but overwhelming. There are many things to be considered, such as the type of home you’d like to live in, where you want to be located, and how to find the right builder. And on top of that, there are dates and appointments that follow after you purchase. So where should you start your search? And how can you make sure you’re staying on track with all these tasks?
Good news! Tarion is here for you and we have an app that can help. It’s called MyHome Planner. But don’t get it confused with our online portal, MyHome. MyHome Planner is an app that makes your home buying experience much easier – and it’s free! Here are some of the things the app can do to make your new home journey a smoother one:
- Plan ahead – You can search for new home developments and Tarion-licensed builders to find builders who are planning to build in the areas you want to live in.
- Stay organized – There are lots of important dates and approaching deadlines you will not want to miss. With the app, you can keep track of different milestones along your home buying journey, such as your pre-delivery inspection and closing date.
- Be informed – There are helpful tips available and up-to-date information on what’s coming next in the process. With this guidance, you can be prepared throughout the home ownership journey and find answers to your many questions.
MyHome Planner is your very own consultant that can help you through the buying process as you shift from homebuyer to homeowner. The app also connects you to MyHome, which will be handy in the years ahead when you need to manage your warranty coverage.
When you finally get the keys and you’re fully moved in, don’t think that your journey is over. To protect your purchase, you’ll need to understand the warranty coverage that comes with every new home and condo in Ontario.
Buying a new home is a huge responsibility and likely one of the biggest investments of your life – so make sure you start your new adventure on the right foot.
