Tarion's Charity Golf Tournament Raises $30,000 for Children's Wish

The heat and humidity may have been at record level highs, but that was not enough to deter over 275 brave and benevolent individuals from participating in Tarion’s 22nd Annual Golf Tournament in support of The Children’s Wish Foundation on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.

Tarion has been a proud supporter of Children’s Wish since 1995.  In 22 years, we have raised close to $800,000 in donations, making us one of the largest single contributors to this incredible organization.

We were very much looking forward to meeting Ashley at this year’s event.  Ashley is a delightful 11-year-old girl who suffers from a condition known as 14q deletion.  Unfortunately, Ashley was unable to attend in person.  Instead, we heard from Ashley’s mom, who told us about her daughter’s ultimate wish to go to Disney World.  We were thrilled to learn that, with help from donors like Tarion, Ashley’s wish will come true later this year.  Knowing that we are helping to put a smile on the face of a child with a life-threatening illness is as humbling as it is exciting.

This year, Tarion’s President & CEO Howard Bogach presented Children’s Wish with a cheque for $30,000, a $10,000 increase from last year.  We attribute this exceptional result to the spectacular turnout and generosity of all who attended.  This donation will go a long way towards making the wishes of other children like Ashley come true.

We would like to thank everyone who helped to make this year’s tournament such an incredible success.  We look forward to seeing you again next year!
