TORONTO – Tarion is urging consumers who have signed an agreement to buy a home from Kings Custom Homes Incorporated or Cory Savary to contact Tarion.
Tarion has issued a Notice of Proposal to revoke the registration of Kings Custom Homes Incorporated, a builder operating in the Peterborough area, for violating terms of its registration under the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act. Savary is a director of the company.
Kings Custom Homes Incorporated has appealed Tarion’s Notice of Proposal to the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT). The appeal is scheduled to be heard April 17 to May 4, 2018.
The builder, based in Omemee, Ontario, is selling homes in the following municipalities: Otonabee-South Monaghan; Asphodel-Norwood; Douro-Dummer; Cavan Monaghan; Hamilton Township; and Kawartha Lakes.
Tarion is urging anyone who has signed an agreement of purchase and sale with Kings Custom Homes Incorporated to contact Tarion.
Tarion protects the rights of new home buyers by regulating new home builders and administering the province’s new home warranty program. Part of Tarion’s mandate is to investigate and prosecute builders who violate the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act.
