TORONTO, ON, March 14, 2018 – Tarion is pleased to announce the finalists for the second annual Ernest Assaly Award, an honour that recognizes Ontario new home builders who are leaders in quality home building, innovation and community service.
Of the more than 5,000 builders in Ontario, only 90 were eligible this year to submit nomination packages to Tarion.
“This award truly recognizes the cream of the crop of Ontario’s builders,” says Howard Bogach, Tarion’s President and CEO. “Chosen by Tarion’s Board of Directors and based on strict criteria, it acknowledges a builder’s ongoing commitment to their workmanship, customers, employees, community and innovation.”
This is the second year the Ernest Assaly Award will be presented. The recipient will be announced at the Homeowners’ Choice Awards luncheon in Woodbridge on May 1, 2018.
The Homeowners’ Choice Awards are determined each year by new home owners who take a survey and rate their builder’s performance and customer service.
The Ernest Assaly Award is named after Tarion’s first Board Chair (1976 to 1988). He was a passionate voice for the builder’s warranty program, a highly respected award-winning builder and a leader in Ontario’s residential construction industry.
The four finalists selected by Tarion’s Board of Directors are:
- Armour Heights Developments Inc., Vaughan
- Swank Construction Ltd., Iroquois
- Terry Waito Homes Inc., Petawawa
- Tridel, Toronto
